Download PDFOur specialized retreat program is designed for those affected by the loss of a child/sibling parent or primary caregiver. These innovative family-centered retreat programs provide opportunities for engagement in creative and evidence-based approaches including art, music, and recreation. These programs are facilitated by our therapists and skilled volunteers. These intensive retreat provide a transformative experience to help individuals & families cope in healthy ways while connecting with others who understand. We also offer a one day family connection day in December to help people coping with loss over the holidays. There is a registration fee for the program; however, no families will be turned away based on ability to pay.
We provide safe and creative spaces for youth to explore their grief experience with their peer group. Led by therapists/grief experts and trained peer mentors, this innovative retreat program provides opportunities for engagement in creative and evidence-based approaches including art, music, and recreation. Held at the amazing Snider Mountain Ranch, there are many activities to explore, whether it is ziplining, rock-wall climbing, canoeing or horse back riding or hanging out in the barn. There are also wonderful creative spaces to engage in art and music. Many of the youth who attend our family retreat attend our youth weekend as well. Our youth love these overnight weekend retreats and so do we! We will provide two youth retreats in the fall and spring.
The loss of an infant or pregnancy is the loss of the future and it is a unique experience. Many families feel very alone in their grief because society does not always recognize this kind of loss. We offer programs that connect families with similar experiences through online support, bi-yearly programs and special events. Our program involves creative arts, music, mindfulness and peer support, led by an experienced NB COPES team member. We offer a fall and a spring program.

The loss of a child is a crisis that creates long-term grief and loss. Many parents feel alone in their journey and often others struggle to help them "go back to normal". There is no going back, there is only moving forward to a new reality without your child. Our groups support parents through creative approaches that help parents to connect with others and learn new ways of coping and living with the loss of a child. Our program is 8 weeks in length and involves creative arts, music, mindfulness and peer support, led by an experienced NB COPES team member.
